Our takeaway menu homework for the half term proved to be another hit amongst the class, with the majority of us having a go at this. This form of homework offers the children the opportunity to use and develop the character traits that we value in school and I am keen to involve my class in the planning of this. Unsurprisingly, the extra hot challenge involving more cooking was a popular choice but I did not expect to see as many sweet treats turning up to school as they did yesterday morning! Thank you for supporting the children’s efforts with this – this was the challenge the children designed and it was great to hear that they had thought through their costings of the products they created to help them to work out a good profit margin if they were to sell them. Some children even used this to influence the type of decorations they used. We are yet to see everyone’s attempts at this piece of homework as we prioritised sharing the freshly baked goodies that were brought into school first, but I’m looking forward to finding out what else was created later this week as well as looking at the other challenges that were chosen. I wonder how many children saved a bit for you to sample too?!
Great effort Kingfishers!
