Today has been enforced time for reflecting on our school and the work we are doing to develop. I have succumbed to the tummy bug. As always though, it’s been a day for catching up, then reviewing our action plans and considering the work we are doing on curriculum and planning ahead – and this coincides with what all my headteacher colleagues are doing today. The collaboration around curriculum and using evidence of what works, considering our children’s needs to enable them in an ever- changing world, and developing staff is an exciting time.
This week has been a full and rewarding one in many ways. The children have been reviewing their progress with their families at parents evenings and the buzz in the corridors has been amazing. I loved sharing some of our latest visible developments- Mr Gott’s amazing artwork in the library and the work Mr Hancock and Patrick have done to create Shakespeare’s writing den by my office.
As I walked around the school at the end of the day I reflected on the journey I have shared with you and how proud I am of all the developments we have made to our school. It truly is a unique school and an amazing place to be. Many of our visitors acknowledge this .
The week started with a new experience for me . I have been selected as one of ten ELE s Evidence Lead in Education across leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland , which will involve us working across schools to enable their use of research evidence and inform our work too. Exciting learning for me- it also supports our achool budget a little more!
Tuesday was all about finance as Mr Bates and I worked with the DSAT team to consider financial planning for the years ahead- with rising costs and limited funding this is never an easy task . That’s why we value all the support FOACC gives school .
Yesterday was a sad occasion for our community and I attended Mrs Hooper’s funeral moth Mrs Bartram and Mrs Giles- Barlow. I’m sure everyone joins me in offering Reverend Peter and his family our love and condolences at the loss of Suzanne.
Reverend Peter sends his love and says he will be back to see us soon.
Another week of varied experiences, but within a warm community . Have a great weekend everyone .
