We always aspire to progress and achieve to the best of our abilities. We have high expectations of ourselves and we recognise we are improving our standards. Our school was judged Good by Ofsted in 2016, but most importantly our children enjoy coming to school and are working on developing Growth Mindsets to support their own motivations to succeed. We even win awards for our achievements!
Assessment without Levels
In line with changes to the National Curriculum and Government expectations, we are trialling new assessment procedures. We currently subscribe to a nationwide tracking system called Target Tracker, which tracks children’s progress in relation to age expectations, with a bank of statements linked to the expectations of the National Curriculum. these are collated in Year group expectations. Within the bands working towards expectations, working securely within age related expectations and working at greater depth. Considered within these is whether children are developing Mastery of their learning. This data this will support our development of school evaluation and planning. Staff are recording in line with this to inform their planning and to support work we do with groups and individuals to ensure they are making good or better progress. We work across the Discovery Schools Trust and the teaching schools Alliance to ensure standards are moderated in line with National expectations.
