We want everyone to fulfil their dreams and ambitions and aim high our achievement assemblies and learning reflection logs help us celebrate what we’ re proud of and Mrs Hancock sends us postcards when we’ve reached 25 points. We have bronze, silver and gold awards to recognise our steps in great learning behaviours.
The DSAT Parliament and Our school council helps us to work with school leaders to plan for the future and we share our ambitions for the school. We have visitors to school who come from our community and show us what is possible. We’ve met authors, policemen, musicians, dancers and actors, cricket champions and the Leicester Riders recently We also have a school bank linked to Melton Mowbray Building Society. We love our partnership with The Curve and RSC and the work we do to help us think about language. Our teachers also work with people from around the world community to make sure our learning goes from strength to strength and that they are always learning too.
We like having visitors from other schools and we are sending some children to observe learning in other schools to report back to us on what we do well and what we might do next in our school.
We also like fundraising for Children in Need, Sport Relief and comic relief and we use our Harvest Festival to support different charities. We’ ve been learning what school is like for children in different areas of the world to think about the value of education in reaching our ambitions.
Some of us run clubs and the book club to help us develop our leadership skills.
Here are some of the things we’ re proud of:
Our whole school CD recording and our performances
Our library and the Usborne Get Steady Read sponsored event.
Our improvements in Literacy and Maths
